Drawing
as flesh
Drawing as Flesh begins with pencil and paper, exploring the relationship between what we see outside of our BODIES, and what we feel within our bodies.
Drawing is a GESTURE that begins with the body, records the past, maps the future and spirits the present.
Everything in the
built environment
started as a drawing.
Drawing as a BEHAVIOR supports youth and adults in their journey to OVERCOME stress, isolation and depression.
We enjoy drawing with NEIGHBORS to explore the everyday gestures of life. It is an expression of joy and a celebration of being together.
Drawing Presence
Drawing SURPRISES us. We don’t always know what’s needed.
Drawing presence is LETTING GO of everything but pencil and paper!
So we listen and observe to discover the CONNECTIONS we need to survive and thrive.
For the creative process to really open us up, we must break with conventions. DARE ourselves to go beyond what feels comfortable.
Humor and PLAY allow us to find fruitful paths.
Creativity is TENDER… it must be protected.
The greatest missing element to sustaining a creative practice is having a COMMUNITY.
So we encourage each other to pass on the LESSONS that excite us the most.
